Vote!

I haven't posted an update for several reasons (to the disappointment of my 2 readers.) One of the main reasons is that I have been totally engrossed with this election. I voted on Monday. I am lucky enough to live in a Georgia county that didn't have a long wait for voting, but I have a friend who waited for 4 hours in the cold on Tuesday morning. We've come to the final countdown and I am very excited and nervous. I am very passionate about my candidate and I really hope to have a reason to celebrate on Nov. 5th. I do ask that all of you vote. If you haven't already, research each and every candidate's policy and make an informed decision and VOTE! It's worth waiting in line. I personally felt very empowered to cast my vote in such an important election.

So, I have been and will be glued to cable news until Nov. 4th but I will hopefully get back to some regular posts after that.

Exhausted

This is my first blog of my new site. I planned to wait until I got the site looking like I wanted but I had to write about the day I had. This was supposed to be my half day at work. I had one surgery to do. A dog with a retained testicle. I was hoping the retained testicle was just under the skin but no such luck. I searched and searched and searched. This neuter surgery basically turned into exploratory surgery. I even had to call in my boss for a second opinion. She couldn't see or feel anything either. We finally came to the conclusion that the one testicle either did not for at all or was so deformed it blended in with other tissue. Having a frustrating surgery is hard enough but then you have to explain how how a simple surgery turned into a much bigger ordeal. Then have to ask permission to treat the dog as it should be treated. This is what physicians and surgeons don't have to deal with. Can you imagine if they had to get permission every time they needed to give and extra medication or new blood test?

I am a pre-diabetic so I am very sensitive to low blood sugar. I was at work until 4:50 and had nothing to eat since my cereal this morning so I felt like a cement block by the time I got home.

So my first blog is one big vent. I plan to make things more presentable soon!
